Yesterday I picked up Iron Man on Blu-Ray (or is it bluray … or blu RAY?), and after watching it for the first time since its theatrical release I have to say that it is a frakking perfect film. As much as I enjoyed The Dark Knight & The Incredible Hulk there is just something that Robert Downey Jr. & Jon Favreau brought to the feature that made it just so damn smooth. It is one of the few movies that I have seen of late that made me want the next installment IMMEDIATELY. Everything from Stan Winston building the actual Iron Man suits to Nick Fury’s appearance after the credits just simply worked.

While perusing /Film earlier tonight I found some interesting comments regarding the status of Iron Man 2 and the push from ths studio to get IM2 in theaters by 2010 from Director Jon Favreau,

“The date is daunting. We are making much faster progress than the first time around and have much less to design and fewer casting issues. I am confident that 2010 is achievable if we continue working together as we have for the past few months. It has to be great, though. It has to be great.”

Please Marvel don’t fuck with a good thing, let Favs do his thing.
