I’ve been watching the new Terminator show which I’ve found to be moderately enjoyable so far. After watching a Terminator this past week’s episode it got me thinking about what who would emerge victorious in a cybernetic Thunderdome thrashing, a Terminator or a Cylon.

There are a couple of things to consider before we begin … I have way too much time on my hands. Both cybernetic beings have one ultimate goal, which is to wipeout any and all humans. While they do not exist in the same “universe”, they maintain the same basic programming … seek and destroy. While the Terminators appear to be more fragile in their general structure they are visually similar to that of their distant cousins, the Cylons.

As seen in BSG, the Cylons are relatively vulnerable to small arms fire (as seen in the episode Valley of Darkness). Meanwhile the Terminators can sustain a greater amount of direct and heavier fire while maintaining the protocols of its basic programming.

In all likelihood I would presume that the Terminator would be victorious in the end; despite my outward bias towards all things BSG. While still all types of badass, the Cylon Centurion just does not appear to have the “will power” to overpower a cyborg of similar ilk.
