I would be remiss if I failed to mention that earlier today Zack Snyder released the first official images of the characters from his upcoming film adaptation of the classic comic/graphic novel, Watchmen. They’ve received their fair share of criticism among fans, particularly that they have little faith in Snyder, despite his extremely adaptation of Frank Miller’s 300.

Here’s the sociopath that is Rorschach, played by the entirely awesome Jackie Earle Haley … I’m curious to see how his mask will “change” depending on who is looking at him.

My take … I think Zack Snyder did a pretty good job in casting and getting the looks down. Particularly in regards to The Comedian & The Silk Spectre. How would have figured that Denny Duquette from Grey’s Anatomy would make a great rapist/government agent. And Malin Ackerman is super sexy … she was that naked girl in Harold & Kumar that was married to Freak Show.

The question remains as to how much story will actually be IN the movie. Anyone familar with the source material knows how much is in the book itself. Surely some sacrifices will have to be made (I just hope that there won’t be too much left on the cutting room floor).
