Just as His Bayness gave Transformers fans giant nerd-rections when he cast Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime in his 2007 blockbuster; the bastard does it again … by having Frank Welker voice Soundwave in the followup, Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen.

As a Transformers fan, this is a huge get especially since Welker had to sit out on the first movie (he also voiced Megatron in the cartoon series). Soundwave is easily the second most recognizable character in the franchise.

When I was a kid, everyone wanted to have the guy that turned into the tape deck. It wasn’t until a couple of years ago I was able to grab the Toys R Us re-release; and it is unbelievably awesome. Now if only we can get him to say, “Ravage, Eject” this June.
