Growing up I really only had two career aspirations, Truck Driver and Space Marine. This is completely understandable when you consider the fact that the two films I had on a constant loop where Big Trouble in Little China and Aliens.

I’ve resigned myself to the fact that I’ll never get the opportunity to operate a Caterpiller Power Loader J-5000 (short of constructing my own), but the possibility of handling an assault rifle ripped from James Cameron’s epic action thriller.

Over at Gizmodo, they are covering Milipol 2009 a French military and police hardware bonanza. There they found the latest release from FN Herstal, maker of very futuristic F2000 and P90 (which have both been heavily featured in other sci fi properties like Stargate)

The Armatronics “Black Box” suite with Moving Red Dot Fire Control turns any of the FN assault rifles into a mini combat computer featuring a laser rangefinder, digital readouts, oh and it gives you an ammo count. Bad FUCKING ass.
